- In the Dec. 26 Economist there is an article called "The Good Network
- Guide" where various networks are rated (1-5) on
- power, secrecy, organization, strength of beliefs, peculiarity of rituals,
- and exclusivity.
- Examples include Yale's Skull and Bones 3 1 4 0 2 2
- Rhodes Scholarship: 5 2 5 3 1 5
- Opus Dei 2 3 4 5 3 1
- Muslim Brotherhood 4 4 4 4 4 2
- Trilateral Commission 3 4 4 3 5 2
- cand best of all
- USENET and Internet 4 3 3 1 0 5
- "In the future the best networks may be electroic, not personal,
- and their models will be USENET and Internet" followed by a brief
- history of both with a couple of errors: there are more than
- 'a few hundred newsgroups' on USENET and an exclusivity rating of
- '5' may be true in Great Britain but certainly not here in the U.S.
- cNo byline on this article.
