  17.         Our family did this for out grandmother who was in a wheelchair.
  18.         She carried the phone around with her everywhere in the house.

  20.         On a related note, we always let the phone ring at least 10
  21.         times before hanging up.  We never had any problem letting it
  22.         ring that many times.  How long was the original poster looking
  23.         to let the phone ring?
