- I believe in the early days of MCI, they had to charge for more than 5
- rings because the bugs weren't out of their long distance system yet.
- MCI couldn't detect when the phone had stopped ringing and the talking
- had started, so they just started charging for the call after the time
- it would take for the fifth ring. Eventually, they were able to make
- the detection, and this problem was resolved.
