  17. I believe that NOTES (DECUServe) and NEWS serve two slightly different
  18. modes of dealing with the flow of information.  Both are slightly
  19. difficient in my mind, but not having the time/$ to invent the "ultimate"
  20. solution - I suggest that NEWS to NOTEs and NOTES to NEWS gateways might be
  21. the best answer.  I hear that DEC has such beasts inside and I have
  22. actually seen one work (well, sort of work - some important configuration
  23. information was apparently hard coded).  Along with mail-based file servers
  24. for those who can't do FTP, this would seem to be the best of all worlds.
