  11. Hello,

  13. I seem to be having problems using WAIS indexes.  I want to index the
  14. subdirectory /usr/local/gopher-data/NRL Directives/SOPs.  After cd'ing
  15. to this directory, I did the following:
  16.  
  17.     % mkdir .waisindex
  18.     % waisindex -d .waisindex/index *
  19.  
  20. And created the following .link file:
  21.  
  22.     Name=Search SOPs
  23.     Type=7
  24.     Path=7/NRL Directives/SOPs/.waisindex/index
  25.     Host=+
  26.     Port=+
  27.     Numb=1
  28.  
  29. But, when I tried using gopher to search this directory, I get the message:

  31.     --> 1. Server error:  Sorry, this isn't a WAIS index.
  32.  
  33. I also noticed that "Search SOPs" was at the end of the menu for its directory,
  34. even though "Numb=1" was specified.  When I did a waissearch on this directory,
  35. everything worked ok.

  37. What am I doing wrong?
