- Hello, I recently are working with Arc Info 6.1 for Sun, but I had worked
- about 3 years with PCARC/INFO and I can tell you my way to transfer files.
-
- 1. UNGEN covert to an ascii files. The covers with lines .lin, the points
- with .poi and labels with .lab. (This is for the graphical data)
- 2. With TABLES then:
- Select the cover info like the .pat or .aat and transfer to an ascii
- file with &openw command, list the features you need except area,
- perimeter, ids, and things the ARCINFO can do himself. latter with
- the command JOINITEM you can integrate the database. Finally with an
- &closew command you have the database.
- 3. Copy the ascii files to a 1.4 floppy and copy to the workstation.
- 4. Use GENERATE to get the graphical information again in ARCINFO format
- the use TABLES to create a database (command DEFINE), and the use
- JOINITEM to redo the database inside the cover.
-
- You can do this procedure backwards. And if you think is too complex maybe, but
- it can be done right way with some .sml files for the PC and .amd (not very
- sure) with the Workstation and you can automatate the convert.
-
- I can help you if you think it is too complex. Only give me the names of the ma
- ps, the data items (with type, size), and I can create you the PC SML files.
