- Bill Thoen and others told you where to get GRASS, but Bill modestly
- left out the fact that he maintains a great document called
-
- internet.resources.earth.sci
-
- and he's made it available via anonymous FTP from
-
- cns.org (this is the original source)
-
- It also appears on (thanks to 'archie')
- aun.uninett.no
- sunsite.unc.edu
-
- Anyway, quoting from this document:
-
- "moon.cecer.army.mil [129.229.1.16]
- In addition to the GRASS GIS source code, there is an extensive
- database for the Spearfish (South Dakota) area to be used with
- grass. Although intended for GRASS, some of the data could easily
- be used for other purposes. For example, Arc/Info can display
- GRASS raster data."
-
-
- Be prepared for a huge amount of stuff and a few hours of compiling/installing.
- I got it running but still have not figured out why only I can access
- the databases and no one else can, not even me from another machine using
- NFS mounts.
