- One might change this to: The geographically informed person (seeks to,
- better) understands those technologies that facilitate the organization
- and use of geographic information. It might be best to qualify this
- statement, as well, from a cultural perspective. As a PCV in West Africa
- I met many people who were very geographically informed, but they knew
- naught about technologies to facilitate organization/use of that
- information in other than indigenous manners, such as histories and
- folklore. To leave this statement misunderstood would be to set a
- standard for a nation based on a single level of advancement or
- development; in a sense, this would go on to further perpetuate the
- myth that people from developed societies are more informed/advanced
- than others.
