  22. Hello European Community netters:
  23.  
  24. Some or all of you are now aware of the EC research program,
  25. under the rubric of IMPACT 2, which will award 30 grants to
  26. support information services implementation using GIS.
  27.  
  28. The purpose of this note is to alert you of the agencies, private
  29. companies, and others within SPAIN who are currently preparing or
  30. thinking about preparing proposals.
  31.  
  32. Two items to keep in mind are: 1) Spain now has several *entities*
  33. which are quite experienced in spatial data collection and publishing,
  34. and 2) Spain is a "less favoured nation", which ironically means it
  35. is more favored when it comes to receiving EC monies...
  36.  
  37. Please contact me if you are interested in joining with any of these
  38. spanish "partners" in an IMPACT 2 proposal.  There are certainly other
  39. partners left off my list, but here are some...
  40.  
  41. Insituto Geografico Nacional (IGN) = publishes national cart data
  42. CGCCT (national cadastral center) = prepares/publishes national, digital
  43.                                     cadastral data
  44. Agencia de Medio Ambiente de Andalucia (AMA) = environmental agency with
  45.                         several years experience in spatail data mgmt
  46. ESRI-Espana Geosistemas = ESRI-Spain, with connections in offices around
  47.                 the world, and experience in large-scale data publishing
  48. Universidad Complutense de Madrid = huge (130,000 students) central Univ
  49.                 with several departments working on GIS / IT issues
  50. Servicio Geografico del Ejercito = Spain's defense mapping agency
  51. Instituto Tecnologico GeoMinero de Espana = Spain's geological survey
  52. Collom, Oller, y asociados = spanish Genasys representative
