  21. I am working on a similar problem.Yet,I have found some sources for doing the
  22. fax compression and a very old fax package for SGI systems :
  23. The PbmPlus package  : comtains some stuff to generate fax 1D-compressed
  24.                files
  25. The Tiff library     : Also source for 2D-encoding; very puzzeling
  26. I don't have the sitemanes ready, but you can ftp these packages from
  27. a variety of sites.

  29. From sgi.com : the "Flexfax" package. Contains modem stuff for Class 1&2

  33. But i still have a problem : My modem uses the "Sierra sendfax chipset"
  34. but i have no documentation on how to use it for sending a fax.
  35. Which commands do i have to use, how can I stuff  a fax-compressed file
  36. into my modem so the fax device on the other side receives it ?
