- You *should* have the small doc box that contains the
- "SPARCstation IPC Installation Guide". Look at page
- 146 for that info.
-
- In case you don't have it, here is a rough schematic
- for the mini-DIN:
-
- __===__
- _- -_
- | I I I |
- | == == == |
- | == == |
- -_ _-
- -------
-
- The numbering is this:
-
- __===__
- _- -_
- | 6 7 8 |
- | 3 4 5 |
- | 1 2 |
- -_ _-
- -------
-
- This is the correspondence table:
-
- DIN-8 DB-25 Signal Direction
-
- 1 20 DTR output
- 2 5 CTS input
- 3 2 TxD output
- 4 7 Gnd none
- 5 3 RxD input
- 6 4 RTS output
- 7 8 DCD input
- 8 17 RxC input
-
- Note that pin 8 is the Receive Clock. This makes it
- possible to run X.25 over such a port. I'm not sure, though,
- why you should not be able to run *any* synchronous connection
- with a modem switched to use TxC==RxC.
