  15. Actually, we are short of space. The fact that most Canadians live in a 
  16. narrow ribbon along the border is no accident. The rest of the country is 
  17. without jobs or infrastructure and will not support people except at a 
  18. subsistence level.

  20. In any case, you should read "Beyond the Limits" by Dennis Meadows et al 
  21. which notes that environmental impact is a function of the number of 
  22. people times their affluence times the adverse effects of their 
  23. technology. Under that definition, one Canadian does far more 
  24. environmental damage than a residents of most of the world and the number 
  25. of Canadians we have now does an incredible amount of damage. So what you 
  26. are arguing for is more pollution.
