- One more thing :-)
-
- Sean's columns remind me (a little) of Jerry Pournelle's columns in
- Byte.
-
- With the major difference being that Sean has a clue (or several), and
- Jerry hasn't.
-
- But they both have interest because they concern real people solving
- (or in the case of Jerry, usually *not* solving) real problems.
-
- And one (maybe) final thing:
-
- I fervently wish that the person who wrote that letter someday finds
- themselves in a situation where they really need a hacker.
-
- I hope that that point is reached after many thousands of
- dollars have been spent on careful studies and that much valuable
- production time has been lost. I then wish that the "hacker" tries
- something totally outrageous to a chorus of shocked "Oh no, that won't
- work!" from the well educated professionals.
-
- Naturally (in my wish), the hacker's solution will work. Brilliantly.
-
- :-) :-) and oh why not: banner :-)!
