- Our system occasionally gives EFAULT errors on read system calls
- for valid buffer addresses. This happens under Xenix 2.3.2 286
- and also 2.3.4 for 386, using large-model 286 binaries.
- In our case, the file is being extended, more than one process
- has the file open, and the buffer address is within the sbrk area.
- When an EFAULT occurs, the data is not read. Subsequent reads to
- the same file seem to also give the error.
-
- Has anyone seen this problem before? Anyone have a fix?
-
- This problem is crashing our application more than once per day
- on any system that is multi-user for our database, so it is a
- critical problem for us.
