  15. Our system occasionally gives EFAULT errors on read system calls
  16. for valid buffer addresses.  This happens under Xenix 2.3.2 286
  17. and also 2.3.4 for 386, using large-model 286 binaries.
  18. In our case, the file is being extended, more than one process
  19. has the file open, and the buffer address is within the sbrk area.
  20. When an EFAULT occurs, the data is not read.  Subsequent reads to
  21. the same file seem to also give the error.

  23. Has anyone seen this problem before?  Anyone have a fix?

  25. This problem is crashing our application more than once per day
  26. on any system that is multi-user for our database, so it is a
  27. critical problem for us.
