-
- We are using MS-Mail 3.0 in the office. The msmail database resides
- on a ODT 2.0 system, accessed by the PCs using PC-Interface (what else ;-)
-
- We also have a dedicated PC running the MS-Mail SMTP Gateway v.3.0 from
- Microsoft. The gateway PC uses PC-Interface to access the msmail
- database and PC/TCP to talk SMTP to our Unix mail-hub (which could have
- been the same ODT system).
-
- We have been running this configuration for app 2 months and it seems
- fairly stable - the gateway often runs several days without crashing....
-
- You HAVE to use a dedicated PC for the gateway. We have tried running it
- under windows, but even as the only application, it will crash several
- times a day.
-
- Also, dont even try this with versions of MS-Mail prior to 3.0 unless
- you are in search of severe grief...

- PS: Ofcourse PC-Interface also allows everybody to share files,
- printers, fax-servers etc and login to the Unix systems from all the
- PCs.
