- Make sure that there's 64KB static cache RAM for each bank of 16MB dynamic
- RAM. Make sure that the BIOS setup is configured to cache all installed
- dynamic RAM.
-
- Many manufacturers and dealers are trying to save a few bucks by shipping
- motherboards without enough cache RAM installed to cover the motherboard's
- maximum memory capacity. This goes mostly unnoticed because few DOS dweebs
- (yeah, I'm including myself here) put more than 8 or 16MB in their machine,
- and loading extra cache on the motherboard has a negligible effect on PC
- Magazine benchmarks.
