  14. I just wanted to say that AHD3 devotes one of its 400+ mini-essay Word
  15. Histories to 'copacetic'.  It goes on for almost half a column, sifting
  16. through the evidence for origins in Italian, southern Black, Creole
  17. French, and Hebrew before concluding that there is no answer and referring
  18. the reader to DARE.  Something else to check in DARE tomorrow in the
  19. library when I go back to work.
