  18.   Actually, in this respect you're no more of a bore than a lot of
  19. other people. I seem to recall an exchange some time ago about
  20. wonderfully witty insults. But you do seem to specialize in the use of
  21. expressions like "<evil smile>" and "<evil grin>", a use that I don't
  22. find boring but peculiarly irritating after a while. I mean, you might
  23. as well go on to write "<devastatingly witty comment>" or "<profound
  24. philosophical insight>" in lieu of those supposed comments or insights
  25. themselves.  The impressions I, as a reader, get of your face and your
  26. intentions and the state of your mind as you write are not determined
  27. by these silly stage directions.
