  25. The Maryknolls are an order of uncloistered nuns who have become known
  26. for social activism to the point where, from what I've heard, many
  27. conservative Catholics find them abhorrently pro-Communist.  They are
  28. associated, I think, with the "Liberation Theology" of South and
  29. Central American priests which, yes, borrowed what it needed from
  30. Marxism (horrors!) in the name of serving bodies and souls on earth
  31. instead of telling those bodies and souls to wait for their reward
  32. until they die at the hands of United Fruit.  It was three Maryknoll
  33. sisters and a lay worker who were raped and murdered in El Salvador in
  34. 1980.
