  23. I never bothered to try.  If I got bent out of shape every time someone took
  24. a deity's name in vain within earshot, I'd spend half my life angry.:-/
  25. It's not worth the bother.  As to the Pope question, I'd say it was just
  26. incredibly rude, although it might well have been an accurate statement back
  27. before the Reformation.  Even further back, some popes were allowed to be 
  28. married.

  30. I can hear it now...some pretty young thing is seen entering one of the
  31. Borgia popes' living quarters, or trying to.  The guard asks her where
  32. she's going and what business she has in there of all places.  She says, 
  33. "I'm going to f*** the pope."  Then the guard, not being stupid, passes her
  34. in without further delay.....
