  18.      Each year Division 47:  Exercise and Sport Psychology, of the APA
  19. selects an outstanding doctoral dissertation.  The dissertations submitted
  20. are judged by experts in the field.  Criteria include the quality of the
  21. research and its contribution to science and practice.
  22.      Interested applicants for the 1992 Dissertation Award must submit an
  23. abstract of 1500 words or less and a letter of support from their advisor.
  24. The advisor is also asked to confirm the successful awarding of the degree.
  25. The abstract must include an introduction with referral to relevant
  26. literature; a clear description of the study design, methodology, and
  27. analysis; an explanation of the findings; and the relevance of the findings
  28. to science and practice.
  29.      To apply, please submit the abstract and letter of support to Dr. Debbie
  30. Crews by February 28, 1993.
