- There are lots of examples. Apparently Truman was a champion pardoner.
- But, in his case (and in the case of the overwhelming majority of
- Presidential pardons) they went to people that few had heard of and even
- fewer had too many strong opinions on. There were six or eight others
- (besides the Iran/Contra defendants) on the list that Bush released last
- week. None of them are big news. Except when the recipients are like
- Nixon or George, most Presidential pardons go without much notice.
