- From the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, 1980 ed:
- fascism (n) - a philosophy or system of government that advocates or
- exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the
- merging of state and business leadership, together with an ideology of
- belligerant nationalism.

-
- Odd, I had thought that communism was an economic system. It's been used
- to perpetuate totalitarian dictatorships of the left, true, but that does
- not mean it has a comparitive meaning to 'fascism'. (It can also be
- argued that communism inevitably leads to less freedom across the board,
- as I've done in the (distant) past. But that's not the same as claiming that
- it is a dictatorship.)
-
- Milosevic is a totalitarian, it would appear. I'm not sure if he's a
- communist.
