- The most effective deterrent is fear of being caught. In the UK and
- the US your chance of being stopped and breath tested is very small,
- particularly if you keep within the limit, stop at red lights, etc. In
- New South Wales they just set up breath testing points on the side of
- the road and haul in every third car or whatever. As a result not many
- people drink and drive in New South Wales.
