- Hello Allen,
- I have just installed a package called "Cross Connect" and I am using it
- for dialout access. The package supports both dialin/dialout and can be used
- on a 80286 PC or better. It can be run in the background on a nondedicated
- PC to allow access out of the network or access to the network, by taking
- control of the PC on the network(obviously not background operation for
- dialin).
- We use the software to pool three internal modems in a dedicated PS/2
- model 80 and allow network users access to the modems from the network for
- dialout purposes. This is a fairly simple package and works with other
- communications software and was easy to install. The price is very
- reasonable at $495.00 US. I also understand that the company is in the
- process of releasing a new and improved version of the software. See the
- November 23, 1992 of LAN Times for a review of the product on page 102. Hope
- this is of some help, facts follow.
