- Hi, Novellers
-
- When checking out a 3.11 server, I noticed that autoexec.ncf
- loads 3c503 and binds ipx to it with these lines:
- load 3c503 port=300 mem=dc000 int=3 frame=ethernet_ii
- bind IPX to 3c503 [port=300 mem=dc000 int=3 frame=ethernet_ii} net=102
-
- with no other network cards installed and no other ipx bindings in autoexec.ncf
-
- but the network information for the server lists this for the card:
- 3c503 [port=300 port=700 mem=dc000 int=3 frame=ethernet_ii]
-
- and I have absolutely no idea where the port=700 is coming from.
-
- a) since we are experiencing severe slowdowns on this server with workstations
- having 3c503 boards, I wonder if this might have anything to do with it
-
- b) Where did that extra port setting come from??
-
- Thanks in advance for any information you might be able to provide on
- either of these mysteries -
-
- A very puzzled
