  14.         Hello everybody !
  15.         May be somebody can help me ?

  17.         We have NOVELL local area networks on our factory. On 6 of 7 of
  18. our servers we have FUJITSU M2263E disks.
  19.         Our installer first try to use HDD controller NCL 5355 with this
  20. disk. But it was not working. Then he replace NCL to ADAPTEC ACB-2322D.
  21. We have now file-servers : DFI TOP-286 (16Mhz, 4MB RAM on motherboard)
  22. with ACB-2322D and M2263E and NW 2.12 (NW 2.15). It is problems what we
  23. have:
  24.  1. During low-level format from on-controller BIOS we have strange messages
  25. "ERROR REPORTED (ERROR CODE=FF) REFORMATTING THE TRACK" every 16 cylinders
  26. if interleave is 1:1 or less then 16 if interleave is more then 1.
  27.  2. NOVELL's program COMPSURF died after one or two hours of sequential
  28. disk test with message "CONTROLLER CHANNEL 0, RESET ERROR".
  29.  3. If we use all available disk space as network drive, server crashed
  30. at least one time a day due to DIR or FAT errors on volumes SYS,VOL1,VOL2.
  31.         We made drive splitting on ACB-controller (divide M2263E on two
  32. disks with 1023 and 631 cylinders respectively). Then formatting drive C
  33. with DOS. After software installation only on drive C it working properly
  34. long long time. But we have now network disks with 380 Mb only.
  35.         If it is not so hard for you, please answer for my questions:

  37.    1. What kinds of controllers we must use with M2263E ?
  38.    2. What i must to do with disk that not working now in 286 machine.
  39.       And what's happen with this disk.
