  13. This Christmas came with its usual presents, one of them in TCP/IP...

  15. On Christmas afternoon, our SMTP server (IBM MVS SMTP V2R2.1) received
  16. a mail file with an explicit source route address as the From: clause.
  17. It received the file into the normal disk dataset without a (visible)
  18. problem.
  19.  
  20. However, when it reread the ADDRBLOK dataset, it got into a CPU loop. I
  21. have had TCP/IP V2R2.1 in production since Wednesday, December 16,
  22. without this ever happening, but now my SMTP just gets into this loop
  23. EVERY TIME it gets an explit source route address as a From: clause.

  83. We don't have a nameserver on our MVS system, all requests are sent to
  84. a Sparcstation for resolution (which seems to work OK).

  86. The SMTP.CONFIG has Punch NoSourceRoutes, Rewrite822Header NO specified,
  87. but all of our outgoing SMTP files originating from a slave system have
  88.
