- Be astute as you search for a doctoral program. The program here at Miss.
- State is the result of having become frustrated by searching among other
- graduate programs. For example, I almost(!) went to Florida State to get
- the doctorate, but found them so heavily couched in the psychological side
- of studies (and almost NOOOOO applications) that I decided to venture
- elsewhere.
-
- At Miss. State, we are heavily engaged in and deeply concerned that our
- students get practical, down-to-earth, hands-on experiences. As a matter
- of fact, just last week, we were able to see one grad student complete a
- project that led to his having a videodisc produced. We expect to have
- grad students directing projects this next semester that will yield more
- videodiscs and some CD-ROMS. By Christmas of next year, we plan to have a
- showing of what students have developed.
-
- Not all our students are education types -- some are military and some are
- involved with industrial training.
-
- Much more can be said, but I think MSU has a wonderful setting for study.
