- I saw it on Cinemax a while ago, in their "Vanguard Cinema" series, I
- believe. I don't know for sure about different versions as suggested by
- Carol but if there are, I assume that I saw the complete one, since
- Cinemax is usually good about presenting movies in their "original
- version".
- Anyway, what I liked about it was first the original storyline. Roger
- Corman adds original twists with the visitor from the future (another
- fine, if predictable, performance by John Hurt) and the mixing of
- fictional and "real" characters. Mary Shelley and Lord Byron meeting
- Dr. Frankenstein is an appealing concept. (In similar fashion BTW, I
- liked TIME AFTER TIME.) The look of the monster is also quite original.
- Since the acting, photography and special effects are above average, I
- consider it a good movie, be it in the "B" category.
