- Like the others so far on this list, I thought Crying Game was terrific.
- I think, though, that Rolando was right on target with the unsettling
- pace of the first part. I saw this one "cold"-- no knowledge of
- reviews, nothing. I didn't think it was slow, which I think Rolando
- thought? It's just that I was beginning to think it was a variation
- of the thriller-espionage genre, one which explores the humanity of
- those involved. Sort of a Blade Runner from a "terrorist's" point ov
- of view. Well, I was wrong about that. But, Rolando, didn't you think
- it actually moved *too* fast at the beginning, until you knew what it
- was about? (after which it all made sense)
-
- I have to keep this vague to keep from spoiling it... Another minor
- kvetch: could a terrorist be that... vulnerable, wavering, etc.? But then,
- I guess he was part of a minor, sort of splinter group, one which might
- take despaerate, daring moves without having moved up through ranks...
- Enough of that. But was it postmodern? Or charlatan? ;)
