  14. My favorite elevator scene (on screen) is Ingmar Bergman's marital
  15. reconciliation between Eva Dahlbeck and Gunnar Bjornstrand in WAITING
  16. WOMEN.  I recall that this couple had been too busy to even talk to each
  17. other for years but when they're trapped in an elevator there's nothing
  18. else to do but talk and sex.  I especially liked it that they were middle
  19. aged people.

  21. My favorite elevator scene (off screen) is the maybe apocryphal tale of
  22. Alfred Hitchcock, who was supposed to be in the habit of turning "on" and
  23. "off" juicy stories of murders when he got into elevators with someone he
  24. knew.
