- 700 Club has a section on the life of Joni, the paraplegic that does
- the Christmas Cards and paintings. She's made something of her life and
- managed to triumph in the midst of a tragic situation. She was an athletic
- young woman who had a diving accident and suddenly her life changed.
-
- She read, or had read, I can't remember which, a suicide letter she had
- written or wrote somehow when she was early on in her recovery. She
- wanted to die. She had to depend on everyone for her support and found
- this to be unbearable. She couldn't talk anyone into killing her.
- According to kilroy, Kevorkian would have been doing her a service to
- put her out of this misery she was in.
-
- Much of the rest of the article talked about Joni loving the Lord, BUT
- DESPITE THAT she still has PERIODS OF DEPRESSION, any one of them would
- put her in such a mood that if someone like Kevorkian was there, he would
- easily be able to convince her that she would be better off dead. Then
- there are many other times she feels just fine and if Kevorkian showed up
- she'd tell him to take a hike.
-
- Now, according to kilroy's argument, if Kevorkian finds Joni at a sad point
- in her time and convinces her that he will give her a quick painless death
- and it will be good for her "Let's use the dying process... for good", and
- she flips the switch, it's her fault and not Kevorkian's.
-
- Sorry, I find myself very much in agreement with Rush, Kevorkian is a
- murderer, and is simply getting others to do his killing for him. He prays
- on the weak and does convince them they would be better off dead. I've
- talked to old people, and some in pain. It would not be that difficult to
- convince many to kill themselves if you could provide a quick easy painless
- way for them to go. Many are actually "looking forward" to go home to be
- with Jesus. I'm there to comfort them in their wait, but if someone was
- there with a way out, they probably could easily be convinced to take it.
-
- I'm sorry, but I don't buy your argument for a minute, mr. kilroy.
-
- Your brother,
- Maks.
