- The name Pentecost does indeed mean "fiftieth day" however,
- it was 50 days after the Passover. I'm not too familiar with Jewish
- holidays, but Pentecost was originally a Jewish holidy even before the
- descent of the Holy Spirit on thos ein the "upper room".
- I seem to recall something about it being a harvest feast, can
- anyone else elaborate ?
