  18. I just wanted to publicly thank Steve Barr for suggesting the reading of 
  19. Newman's "Letter to the Duke of Norfolk."  Turns out that Newman is even
  20. more of an obedient papist than I thought, and perhaps even more than I am.;-)
  21. Seriously though, I would just like to echo Steve's recommendation.  Newman's
  22. clarity and precision on obedience and faith is asstounding, especially when
  23. contrasted with the "Expostulation" of William Gladstone that prompted Newman
  24. to write the "Letter" to the Duke.
