- I just wanted to publicly thank Steve Barr for suggesting the reading of
- Newman's "Letter to the Duke of Norfolk." Turns out that Newman is even
- more of an obedient papist than I thought, and perhaps even more than I am.;-)
- Seriously though, I would just like to echo Steve's recommendation. Newman's
- clarity and precision on obedience and faith is asstounding, especially when
- contrasted with the "Expostulation" of William Gladstone that prompted Newman
- to write the "Letter" to the Duke.
