  19. My point exactly.  I am now hearing the "When I was your age" tune.  It's
  20. starting to warp.  Unless you are lucker than most, society has put us in
  21. debt.  Madison Avenue or not.  Who hasen't had a collection notice, how
  22. many single friends do you have that comfortably$$ own their own home here
  23. in Silicon Valley.  How many of your friends were married for more than 10
  24. years before divorce?  I can't stand that fact that people of an older
  25. generation expect us to do and be the same people and live the type of
  26. lifestyle that they lived!@!

  28. I'm really angry that I share my thrill of bungee jumping to my family that
  29. all I hear is grief.  It's okay that my brother almost kills himself
  30. everyweek mountain biking.  Didn't they understand in July when I bought my
  31. convertable that is was something for me that I wanted to do.  I'm not in
  32. debt...the damn things paid for.  I think they're upset that I'm having
  33. more fun than they did at my age -- think I'm right!?

  35. Can't Madison Ave or generations of old understand that survival goes to
  36. the fittest.  I am not going to stand idly by why my life passes before me.
  37. I'm also not going to work my tail to the bone in one electronics company
  38. for 20 years like my mother did just to get layed off in my late 40's only
  39. to find that I'm not the hot commidity that I was 20 years prior.  I WILL
  40. NOT!!

  42. What I will probably do is continue to enjoy my life, save when/where I
  43. can.  Looking for Mr. Right is fun so I won't stop doing that.  Well,
  44. enough complaining.  I am going to be 30 next week and there's nothing I
  45. can do about it.

  47. I want to thank all the people who responded to my plea.  I think I'm going
  48. to take her idea of my Wrong to meet her [any one of my ex-boyfriends would
  49. do it]. Then in the following weeks I will borrow friends children of
  50. varying age and take them to my family when I visit.  I'll let you know how
  51. it goes.
