- This is a proposal for a new newsgroup called aus.cdrom.

- Group Charter
- =============
-
- This group is intended to provide a forum for discussion of cdrom related
- issues to Australian users that are otherwise lost in the morass of postings
- in the US based groups.
-
- Specifically issues such as local distributors of software and hardware,
- prices, difficulties with imports, local mastering and pressing facilities,
- the impending availability of PhotoCD in Australia, legal matters concerning
- copyright both conventional and regional, use of CDROM products across networks,
- particularly AARNet and the associated licensing implications, and so on.
-
- Status: un-moderated
- ======
-
- Of course :)
-
- Procedural Matters
- ==================
-
- Please forward any comments to me as well as posting them if you wish. If there
- is no really strong opposition, and even a vague hint of interest, I will
- "newgroup" the group in a few weeks, in keeping with accepted lack of any
- specific practice within the "aus" hierarchy.
-
- I selected the spelling cdrom rather than cd-rom because I keep forgetting the '-'
- when I read the alt.cd-rom group ! I don't think this is a big issue :)
