- Wow,
- After seeing the U2 Zoo TV special on Sunday night, all I can
- say is wow. Blown away. I had heard a lot about the U2 Zoo TV tour,
- how it was a "multi-media experience" and the like, but until you see
- the scale of the thing, the visuals, and most importantly the music, you
- really have no idea.
-
- The sceptics of this group will probably say it was self serving
- crap, that Bono has a huge ego, and that the band were just stroking
- themselves. If that was your attitude, then I suggest that you missed
- the point of the show. It is all about hype, information, the
- ridiculousness of "stardom" and the facade that is rock "stardom".
- I mean would you take anyone seriously who dresses in a silver suit and
- hat, and kisses themselves in a mirror? That particular image is
- "obscene" and Bono was exposing the obscenity of it, and in the process
- making fun of himself.
-
- Personal highlights of the show were Bullet the Blue Sky, which
- was done in a very funky manner, and Love comes to town. And if anyone
- wants a release number for the George Bush version of We Will Rock you,
- I can probably get it for you. It is sampled by a group called EBN.
-
- Comments anyone?
