- The Department of Computer Science at the Australian National University
- wishes to make 1-year appointments to the following positions.

- Both positions relate to a project funded by DEET's National Priority
- (Reserve) Fund aimed at designing and implementing a departmental
- student administrative system.

- Programmer I/II
-
- Salary range: $32 572 to $37 521 pa.

- Duties will include completing the design, implementation,
- testing and installation of the administrative system.

- Selection will be based on one or more of the following
- . tertiary level education (or equivalent) in Computer Science
- . programming experience in C
- . extensive experience of Unix,
- including familiarity with its utilities
- . experience of systems design
- . ability to document systems
- . ability to take initiative
- . understanding of the operation of a university teaching department

- Project Assistant (Technical Officer)

- Salary range: $25 327 to $30 314 pa.

- The duties of this position are to assist the Project
- Manager. That will include information gathering,
- computer-based management of information using a developing
- system, and the production of documentation.

- Selection will be based on one or more of the following
- . tertiary level education (or equivalent)
- . familiarity with Unix,
- and some understanding of its utilities
- . experience with document processing systems
- . excellent writing skills
- . ability to take initiative
- . understanding of the operation of a university teaching department

- This position would suit a recent honours graduate, or PhD candidate.
