-
- To keep it legal... In NSW you are required to have an inspection certificate
- (Pink Slip) to pass on to the new owner and any advertisement must include
- the registration number (number plate) of the car.
-
- To transfer the registration to the new guys name, he will need to know all
- the details about you on your rego papers (In NSW, the back of the form is
- filled out, signed and passed on with the car.) You *must* fill in the
- sell price (for stamp duty) and be warned that if you get caught falsifying
- this info, they will string you up by your left testicle while they
- cut off your right one.
-
- For safety... I reccomend that you get they new owner's name address etc
- from his licence, *not* from his mouth, (In case he doesn't transfer owner-
- ship and runs up a string of parking fines. Keep a copy of his lecence,
- both sides of the filled-out rego papers.
-
- Make/receive payments in full and in cash (bank cheque = cash) and write
- a receipt and keep a copy. Just to prove anything in the unlikely event
- that anything gets legally messy.
