- although the 2-5th were wounded, it does not mean that they were "out of it"
- It is interesting, i think, that Sturgis was given command of the First
- Brigade in Lyon's army - if that means anything.

- Lyon was in fact, wounded twice before he was killed ("Lehman, I am killed"
- were his last words). Sturgis no doublt was the most qualified.
