- Ah, I didn't think of getting my Tarot deck out. Though, I admit, I
- would squint at the screen (or freeze frame the tape) whenever Josette's
- mother would hold up a card and make a proclamation. My husband would
- ask, "So, is she right?"
-
- Joanna Going was *perfect* as Victoria, IMHO. I think she would have made
- a better Mina than Wynona Ryder (excuse any misspellings). Joanna could
- capture the combination of delicacy, trepedation, passion, and
- righteous anger very well. (That said, I cannot watch her on GOING TO
- EXTREMES -- seems like such a waste of her talent.)

- I was kind of pissed about the way they (DS) portrayed the witch, Angelique,
- using an upright pentagram that way. First off, if her background was as
- they said, she wouldn't be using pentagrams. Second, even if she was, it
- should be an upside-down pentagram for that kind of thing. But, I admit I
- let it go.
-
- I still won't forgive Anne Rice for THE WITCHING HOUR. She must have known
- better. As much as I love THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES, I think a lot of the
- other work of Anne's is substandard (well, add the third CHRONICLE to
- that assessment), and I'm convinced that she does not like women at all.
- I realize that many people liked THE WITCHING HOUR, but I lost a lot of
- respect for her after that book came out.
-
- But, I digress... :^)
-
- Anyway, too bad about the '91 Dark Shadows. I guess it did save me from
- redecorating my home in Gothic style. I was getting perilously close to
- ordering velvet drapes and a dozen candlebras...which would have looked
- very odd in my modern architecture home...
