  27.    XView will satisfy your needs.  It's nice to have a canned one if
  28.    you're not up for writing one yourself, but I'm sure there are a lot
  29.    of software developers who can think of really neat features to put in
  30.    a file requester won't be in the one supplied with a future version
  31.    of XView.

  33. exactly why the XView implementation takes the "kit" approach
  34. rather then forcing you to start from scratch when the File
  35. Chooser object is not exactly what you need (e.x. the "Load
  36. Files" dialog in MailTool).  though those who do use the File
  37. Chooser object have the benefits of having a look and feel that
  38. is consistant with the rest of the OW desktop and as well as
  39. the design input of our HI people and user testing.

  41. in reality, it does not appear that our respective approaches
  42. are dissimilar (sorry, i can't post code at this juncture). glad
  43. to see that someone out there is doing useful things with XView
  44. extensions!
