- Here's a fun one for you electronics types:
-
- Remember walking around a department store and hearing a bloody high-
- pitched whine...did it not bug the sh** out of you? Ever have the
- pleasure of sitting in front of an old TV set with a bad Horiz.
- output screaming and driving you batsh** crazy?
-
- Well, now you can duplicate these and other extremely annoying scenerios.
-
- Just take a 555 timer chip, wire it up as a free running oscillator (can
- be found almost anywhere i.e. code practice oscillator in ARRL handbook)
- and disguise it. I put my circuit together without even using a perf board.
- I took an empty teabag box and installed the circuit, battery and poked
- small holes where the speaker was mounted inside. I can hear landmines,
- so I adjusted the frequency and amplitude down where those with problems
- hearing the highest audio frequencies could still be tormented. The sound
- emmitted is so high, it is extremely difficult to locate.. I placed this
- in close proximity to some co-workers (5-10 ft) and watched the fun.
-
- After a few minutes, everyone was extremely irrate..one person became
- angry at another coworker, accusing him of having a monitor which was
- having a horizontal problem (mentioned above) and to turn the monitor off
- or else! he he he he
-
- ho ho ho hee hee hee!
-
-
- More to come when I can think of some. Like Pottasium Iodide..
-
- all disclaimers apply; especially here.
