- A few days ago I changed from in-drawers-boxes-on-shelves-unavailable-where-
- did-that-red-spool-go-or-did-I-use-it-up-already? to a wall-hanging pegboard.
- What a difference! The thread is easily available and I am encouraged to put
- thread I'm finished with right back on the pegboard instead of in a heap that
- gets a life of its own while I try to decide which of several inadequate
- places to put it. Some of the thread I own has sat openly (in one of those
- heaps) for long periods of time, and some of it I inherited from my mother
- so could be as much as 30 years old. I have noticed no degradation. If dust
- has you worried you can tack a piece of transparent plastic on the top edge
- of the pegboard and let it drape over the spools, etc. The plastic would
- also block UV rays, if your pegboard is exposed to them.
