  14. You know what's really maddening about romance and relationships?
  15. It's the irritating irony surrounding their development.  Case in
  16. point:

  18. Through alt.romance I've come in contact with a really fascinating
  19. lady---she's intelligent, romantic, sweet, and eminently cuddly (this
  20. last bit comes from my impression of her after she obligingly described
  21. herself.)  After several E-mail exchanges, I've started to think that I 
  22. just might be falling for this fair maiden, which, in retrospect, may
  23. be the aftermath of an initial, impetuous emotional rush, considering
  24. that we've barely "known" each other for two weeks through the E-mails.
  25. (Oh, yes, go ahead and roll your eyes in disbelief---I can hear you
  26. doing it, and, yeah, I know how all this must sound to you, but that's
  27. the way it is for me.)  Now, you may be asking youself, where is the
  28. "irony" this smitten, bitten cornball mentioned before?  Well, it's
  29. simply this:

  31. I'M here in Nebraska, and SHE'S way up yonder in Canada.

  33. I ask you: Isn't that the way of it?  You wait for years and years
  34. for that certain someone to come along, and when they do, guess what?
  35. They live in another country, a thousand miles away!  Ha-ha-ha, too
  36. bad, so sad!  Do NOT pass "Go", do NOT collect $200!....

  38. ....And *that* is why I say unto you, brothers and sisters:  This
  39. really, REALLY bites it.
