- As a response to this and to John McCarthy's response I would say that
- neither I nor any other individual can determine exactly where
- the boundary between permitted and not permitted is. John McCarthy
- says human rights include property rights and I agree. Human rights
- also include the right to prevent being harmed by others. The exact
- boundary will be determined by law with input from science and ethics.
- As scientific knowledge advances and ethics evolve, the limits will
- evolve. Such laws are never adsolutly stricly defined. Thats one
- reason why we have judges and juries. The point is that ownership
- of land is not a free ticket to do things that harm people or the
- environment.
