  19. I'm single, pushing forty.  I've been a submissive for as long as I can
  20. remember, and certainly long before I knew there was a name for it or
  21. that a BDSM subculture existed.  Yet I've never met anyone who could
  22. handle that side of me, and in the course of many a vanilla
  23. relationship the subject never came up, because I *knew* he couldn't
  24. handle it.  (Why do I keep picking vanilla men, then?  Beats me.  Maybe
  25. I thought I;d grow out of it.)
