- "Ooops" is the only 808 State track Bjork has performed on, although I
- believe 808 State may have remixed a track or two on the new
- Sugarcubes "Itsit" CD. Note: 808 State remixes are usually entirely
- new backing tracks, so these might count more as "collaborations" than
- as remixes.
-
- It's very, very hard to go wrong with 808 State. Probably the best
- place for a new listener to start would be the "Utd. State 90" disc,
- which contains the now famous "Pacific" and the original mix of
- the perhaps more famous "Cubik". Many people (myself included)
- consider this the best electronic dance disc released this decade.
- The disk "ex:el" is also quite good, though not quite as coherent
- as "90". This is the album "ooops" comes from. They have a new
- disc coming out "real soon now", to be called "Gorgeous". The first
- single from it, "Timebomb" was released quite some time ago and is
- very easy to find. Opinions are mixed on the "Timebomb" single --
- the title track is pretty lightweight breakbeat techno, but the
- b-side, "Nimbus", is a gorgeous trance piece. The third track
- (presented in two versions) is an OK but not great tribal track.
- But "Nimbus" on it's own is worth the price of the single.
