  25.  Well first of all you have to disgard the stupid notion, which regrettably
  26. can be found all over this group, that to play guitar properly you must
  27. be a finger gymnast. THAT IS NOT MUSIC THAT IS SHIT!!!!!!! music is about 
  28. making sound and the exressive possibilities that lie within that. forgive
  29. me Joe Your just the guy who got lucky, idon't mean this as a personal
  30. flame. but there were some ssnide comments about Sonic Youth Janes Addiction
  31. and the "alternative/experimental" genere that I passed up before, but
  32. now I must speak.

  34.    The guitar is just a sound maker not a temple so drop the harder is better
  35. attitude. what counts is the sound and it doesn't matter how you get it.
  36. waht does matter is where it comes from for the artist.

  38.    Tuning is one way to open up the guitar to a wider range of sound making
  39. possibilities.  not a lazy trick. The same goes for effects. All those
  40. two story racks most super guitar gods use could be viewd as cruches
  41. or as methods for opening up the noise you make.

  43. I n the end it matters most were your heart is. Actually I have to say that 
  44. for the most part I find a good possitive attitude on this gruop but 
  45. when i see shit like "they ought to learn how to play" I just feel sad.
  46. sound is so much fun. It's the purest form of abstraction available to use
  47. and capable of expressing so much more than EADGBe. be a musician not just
  48. a gutarist with a narrow mind.
